Ranging from pure abstraction to diffused pictorialism, the artists on view have each ventured into often inhospitable circumstances to capture the beauty of nature in its frigid dormancy. Sebastian Copeland’s silent, floating sentinels and Kacper Kowalski’s aerial still-lives raise concerns of climate change and humanity’s role through visually seductive compositions. American landscape master Jeffrey Conley and rising Chinese photographer Wenlong Ye each use monochromatic processes to isolate the graphic elements present during and after a heavy snowfall, while Korean artist Byung-Hun Min’s ice-encapsulated grasses along with Baghir’s painterly, rural scenes, provide contemplative respite from the storm.
