G. R. GRAZIA RICEVUTA is a project by artist Paolo Ventura born from a fascination with Ex Voto representations, illustrations created between 1300 and the 1970s to thank saints and protectors after overcoming tragic events. In these images, Ventura discovered a fertile blend of faith, magic, and paganism, as well as an imagery that often shifts from reality to the absurd and ironic. Drawing on this inspiration, the artist sought to stage miracles with an even more surreal feel, while simultaneously seeking to evoke the same narrative power of the original Ex Votos.
