from Friday, May 8, 2026 to Sunday, November 8, 2026
Château de Châteaudun / Mobilier national / CMN
Created for the Mobilier National’s “Les Aliénés” collection, “This is the wind and nothing more” is on display as part of the group exhibition “Drôles de meubles,” organized by the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (CMN) and the Mobilier National. Conceived in partnership with the Mobilier National, the exhibition brings together more than 50 works from the “Les Aliénés” collection, in which designers, artists, and artisans reinterpret antique furniture.

"Sophie Zénon has reimagined the basic form of an Empire-style bookcase to create a striking conceptual work that revives the optical principles of the triscenorama and the diorama, thus continuing her artistic journey marked by the creation of cabinets and artists’ books. (...) This piece brings together her favorite materials, where her interventions on anonymous photos from a rediscovered family album interact with forest landscapes. At the top of a staircase, a magpie, perched as a “guardian of secrets,” seems to hold the key to enigmatic, wordless narratives articulated through the shifting facets of the luminous frame of this cosmogony".
Yves Badetz, Chief Curator of Heritage in charge of artistic creation at the Mobilier National. -
