from Friday, May 29, 2026 to Saturday, September 26, 2026
Galerie XII Paris, 14 rue des Jardins Saint Paul.
Galerie XII Paris is pleased to announce the first solo exhibition of Sabatina Leccia, following her recent institutional shows at the FRAC Corsica and the Centre d’art Una Volta.
It is no doubt from the silence of the studio and her meditative creative process that Sabatina Leccia’s poetic visions rise to the surface. Visions that she materializes through photography, drawing, or video. Visions imbued with a textile sensibility—dear to her and inherited from her grandmothers. With her needles, stitch by stitch, the artist constellates reality, bringing ever more wonder, beauty, and light into this world.
For this first solo exhibition at Galerie XII, the artist brings together drawings, photographs, and recent compositions, revealing a deep continuity across mediums: a shared attention to fragility, to the invisible, to what emerges beneath the surface. This sensibility is also nourished by the long hours she spends working silently, stitch by stitch. From this extended, suspended time—set against the chaos of the world—emerges an inspiration rising from within, allowing the artist to access the density of her dreams, her memories, her “intimate germinations.” Within this silence lies, perhaps, an eternal quest for inner light, a search for that soothing, healing sun.
Sabatina Leccia offers a sensitive wandering, a way of giving oneself a suspended moment on the threshold between sunlight and night—an invitation to engage with her images so that, in turn, we may take the time to inhabit our own silences.
For her first solo gallery exhibition, Sabatina Leccia presents a body of work created over the past six years, offering a transversal reading of her practice. Like a chronological fresco unfolding across the walls, her drawings—small formats, primarily monochromatic—punctuate the installation and bear witness to her early formal explorations.
Surrounding them are recent works that reflect her attention to material and gesture, celebrating her family heritage through her embroidery tools. Photographs with unreal tones, alongside textile works—linen or organza—that float in space. A visual artist, Sabatina Leccia also presents an installation of Polaroids, the starting point of her hybrid works and her experiments. -
